Withdrawal Policy

This policy outlines the guidelines for the withdrawal of submitted manuscripts from the International Bulletin of History and Social Science (IBHSS).

Scope: This policy applies to all authors who have submitted manuscripts to the IBHSS.

Withdrawal Procedures:

  1. Request for Withdrawal: Authors wishing to withdraw their manuscript must submit a written request to the IBHSS editorial office. The request should clearly state the reason for withdrawal and be signed by all authors.
  2. Timing of Withdrawal:
    • Prior to Acceptance: Manuscripts can be withdrawn at any time before the final decision from the editorial board.
    • After Acceptance: Withdrawal after acceptance may be possible under exceptional circumstances, such as:
      • Ethical concerns: If serious ethical issues arise that cannot be resolved.
      • Author's health or personal circumstances: If the author's health or personal circumstances prevent them from completing the manuscript or responding to reviews.
      • Other compelling reasons: In rare cases, other compelling reasons may be considered.
  3. Editorial Board Approval: Any withdrawal request made after acceptance will be reviewed by the editorial board. The decision to approve or deny the withdrawal will be based on the circumstances of the case and the best interests of the journal.
  4. Notification to Reviewers: If a manuscript is withdrawn after being sent to reviewers, the editorial office will notify the reviewers of the withdrawal.
  5. Publication Ethics: If a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance due to ethical concerns, the editorial office may take appropriate steps to address the ethical issues and may publish a statement regarding the withdrawal.

Consequences of Withdrawal:

  • Future Submissions: Authors who withdraw their manuscripts without a valid reason may be subject to restrictions on future submissions to the IBHSS.
  • Publication Ethics: If a manuscript is withdrawn due to ethical concerns, the editorial office may take appropriate steps to address the ethical issues and may publish a statement regarding the withdrawal.

Exceptions:

In exceptional cases, the editorial board may consider other factors when evaluating a withdrawal request. These factors may include the nature of the manuscript, the stage of the review process, and the reasons for the withdrawal.
